7 top tips to take a great Selfie

1. Background
Check your background. The background needs to be clean & clutter-free so it does not bring in any unwanted distractions on your Selfie.

2. Set your smartphone
Even though smartphone don’t take the best photos, they are best for Selfies. Use the highest resolution on your smartphone by using the back-facing camera. The front-facing camera reduces the resolution of the Selfie.

3. Lighting
This is very important. You must face the light. It can be a window or any light source. Don’t have any lights behind you. Try and avoid using the camera’s flash and use available lighting as much as possible.

4. Become famous…
You must take a Selfie if you meet someone famous like a sportsmen, popstar, etc. Ask them if they’re game and take a Selfie.

5. The Selfie-Bomber
Watchout for these culprit/s in the background. Before taking a Selfie, take a quick look behind you to make sure no one is selfie-bombing you and ruining your selfie!

6. Relax and Don’t Duckface
Just be yourself, relax and smile or laugh like you naturally do. You want to show your real personality. Tilting your head at an angle and show the world your best side.

7. Editing your Selfie
Once you’ve taken your selfie, you need to edit the selfie with a software. There are loads of apps available and one of our faves is Snapseed by Google.
