Today, Google launched the much awaited Google Glass in London. The event was extremely well attended and everyone had a demo from a Googler to try various apps on the Glass.
The initial feeling is kind of weird with a screen just above your eyeline. However, it really does feel quite comfortable to wear and the build quality is very good.
Event though there was a lot of background noise, the voice activated commands worked perfectly.
My favourite couple of apps were the ‘Word Lens’ & the ‘Recognition’. Word Lens is a translation app, you set your Glass to read a language and translate what you are looking at into English or any other language. The ‘Recognition’ app listens to any music or song which is being played and recognises the singer / group and then brings up the lyrics in the Glass as the song is played.
